PIP or FAIL.  In addition, SOS takes care that the same name is never
invented  twice  or  by two different copies of the program.  This is
done to insure that there is no conflict between different copies  of

user.  When the edit is finished (see the  E  command),  SOS  renames
this  temporary  file to the name of the users original file unless a
